What do you buy and what do you not buy?

Sellbricks exclusively buys LEGO® collections that you yourself would want to buy. We place great value on well-preserved, original LEGO bricks and parts that are complete and clean. It is important to us to emphasise that we do not purchase defective or low-quality parts. Our philosophy is: quality over quantity – there is no place for junk in our range.

We buy all original bricks and parts made by LEGO. You are welcome to include building instructions, however they do not contribute to the weight or the purchase prices.

The ideal LEGO package that reaches us includes a varied mix of different themes and elements. These include, among other things, minifigures, plates, animals, bricks, wheels, tyres, ships, roof tiles, doors, windows, and Technic parts. Themes such as Star Wars, City, Knights, or Ninjago are particularly sought after and of great interest to us.

Do you also buy imitations?

No! We kindly ask for your understanding that we specialise in original LEGO® products. Imitations are often of inferior quality and do not meet our quality standards. Furthermore, some imitations are often not compatible with original LEGO bricks.

Do I need to clean my LEGO® before sending it?

It is not necessary to clean your LEGO® beforehand. It is understandable that bricks can become dirty over the years. However, please bear in mind that heavily soiled collections will be assessed correspondingly lower by us. Please note that you should not wash any electronic parts.

How should I pack my LEGO® collection?

When shipping, LEGO® bricks generally sustain little damage. They are manufactured so robustly that they can withstand transport undamaged. However, you should take special care to protect base plates, electronic parts, and antennas when shipping. Standard bubble wrap is best suited for this. If such wrap is not available at home, it can alternatively be replaced by newspaper.

Who covers the shipping costs?

For collections weighing 5 kg or more (net weight of the collection, excluding packaging material and instructions), we cover the shipping costs for you. For smaller collections, we ask you to bear the shipping costs yourself.

  • We only cover shipping costs for domestic shipments (within Germany) in the form of a flat rate of €10 per customer.
  • If you do not live in Germany, please contact us in advance via our contact form or by email.
  • In individual cases, we may also cover the actual shipping costs. Please send us a request via our contact form in advance so we can discuss this with you.

What is a LEGO® bulk lot?

A LEGO® bulk lot is a mixed box full of various LEGO bricks and elements that accumulate over the years in children’s and teenagers’ rooms. Such a lot often comes from multiple sets that have been mixed together over time. It contains building bricks, wheels, windows, plates, rails, minifigures, animals, plants, and numerous other small parts.

Since the parts come from different years and themed worlds, these collections are particularly versatile. They offer endless possibilities for creative building, as they are not limited to a specific set. Bulk lots accumulate not only in children’s and teenagers’ rooms – adults often still own large quantities of LEGO stored unused in basements or attics.

How to clean LEGO® bricks properly

Over time, dust and dirt accumulate on LEGO® bricks – but with the right method they can be easily cleaned. The best approach is to wash them by hand in lukewarm water (maximum 40°C) with a soft cloth or sponge. A mild cleaning agent can be added but should be thoroughly rinsed off with clean water afterwards.

Particularly sensitive parts, such as electronic components or elements with metal, should not be submerged in water. Instead, it is recommended to carefully wipe them with a slightly damp cloth.

Caution: Cleaning in a washing machine or dishwasher is not recommended, as the high temperatures could warp the bricks. To dry them, lay the individual bricks on a towel or blanket and leave them to air dry – away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources. This way they retain their shape and remain durable for a long time.
